I liked the way the matte goes on, very easy to apply. It looks good on, however, if you are in the sun or working outdoors, it needs to be re-applied frequently. It was non-greasy and it did not feel like heavy on my skin.

I found SunSense Sensitive Matte easy to apply without the “sunscreen” smell. It felt nice on my skin without leaving a greasy feel. The tint was a little pale for my liking and I was hesitant to use it on my two sons due to the tint so it was a “Mum” only product for us.

SunSense Sensitive Matt Invisible Sheer Tint went on easily, had no odour, nor greasy film, however, I did find that my face looked pale after using and would prefer no tint.

I’m a photographer and spend most weekends outside in the sun. I loved this product! Non-greasy, actually for sensitive skin. The only problem I had is that I had to reapply more often than normal (I normally use a sports sunscreen which is sweat resistant for 4 hrs). This will be a product I’ll use again – but sadly given I need to reapply so often – it’ll be occasional use.

I absolutely loved this product. I tend to avoid using sunscreens as they feel sticky and greasy and my skin feels like it can’t breathe. Sun Sense is nothing like this. I was impressed with how easily it rubbed in, leaving no visible white residue, stickiness or greasy feeling. It is more like a tinted moisturiser, and therefore I used it daily on my face and arms. Not only have I been protected from the harsh Queensland sun, but I have also noticed that my skin feels softer. As an added bonus, the matt tinting left my skin tone looking younger and more even toned. Great that your skin can look good, even at the beach. I know that this is not the cheapest sun block on the market, but it is certainly the best I have used, and I think it is well worth the money. I will be buying more.

This product is quite good. I have sensitive skin and it didn’t cause any irritations. I did find it to be a bit greasy though, but I think that is a problem with all sunscreens.
Would definitely purchase and recommend to friends and family!

Hi – Thanks for contacting Ego Pharmaceuticals with your enquiry regarding the use of nano particles in SunSense sunscreens. The formulations of a number of the SunSense products contain the sunscreen active titanium dioxide, a physical blocker, in nano particulate form.

Microfine/nanoparticulate titanium dioxide and zinc oxide have been used in sunscreens for many years, with exceptionally good safety records. This is important because it demonstrates that they do not harm the living tissues.
Many studies have shown that microfine and nanoparticulate titanium dioxide and zinc oxide do not penetrate human skin; these particles lie on, or within, the dead outer cells of the skin. Thus they cannot harm the underlying living tissues. Other evidence shows that titanium dioxide is not irritant, does not cause allergies nor photoallergies.
Similarly independent tests have shown that application of sunscreens containing 23% of nano-size (microfine) zinc oxide did not raise the amount of zinc in the living part of the skin above that normally found. Other evidence shows that zinc oxide is not irritant and does not cause allergies nor photoallergies.
In vitro tests have shown that uncoated forms of titanium dioxide and zinc oxide could generate free radicals and this could potentially be harmful. The relevance of these in vitro experiments to living people has not been established.

Further:
- the reactive forms of zinc oxide and titanium dioxide are not used in any SunSense sunscreen. These theoretical problems have been recognised for many years and thus the microfine and nanoparticles of titanium dioxide and zinc oxide have been surface-treated to prevent the generation of free radicals.
- the particles do not penetrate human skin.

With the best scientific evidence at our disposal we confirm that sunscreens containing microfine/nanosize zinc oxide and titanium dioxide are not a safety risk. This position is confirmed by the TGA position on ‘Safety of sunscreens containing nanoparticles of zinc oxide or titanium dioxide’ which can be viewed at http://www.tga.gov.au/pdf/review-sunscreens-060220.pdf and the Cancer Council Australia at http://cancer.org.au/cancersmartlifestyle/SunSmart/nanoparticles_sunscreen.htm

Great product. Smooth and very easily absorbed and no greasy film left on my skin. Also am using the product on my 75 year old mother who has just had two melanoma’s removed. Her comments are ” I wish i had used this product all my life. Great work. So many thanks

I was really impressed with this product. Often I find suntan creams are gluggy and dont absorb into the skin. This product felt like a moisturiser and made my skin feel soft. Also worked well in the airconditioning and stopped my skin from drying out. Lovely product which is absorbed quickly and smells great too!

Extremely happy with this product, not too thick so it sinks into the skin very easily.. and not greay at all. Gave great protection to my daughter on her recent sports day at school, where she was out in the sun all day. Worked super well, and that is under a very harsh sun here in tropical North Qld. Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to test this product. I am LOVING it very much!

Sunscreen was easy to apply, worked well in overcast and blustery weather and also out in moderate sunshine. The only concern I had was the colour change to my skin, I did not really like the matte finish.

This product is perfect for people with sensitive skin. I usually react to nearly every product that can go on my face but not this sunscreen.

Applying Sun Sense sensitive matte not only gave my skin a nice glow without feeling greasy but after spending all day in the sun, following the directions on the tube, my skin showed no trace of burning or blotchiness. I find Sun Sense sensitive matte has great protection from the sun while being very kind and gentle on my skin and is a quality product that I will continue to use.

Pros: easy to rub in, nice clean smell, 4 hours protection
cons: contains nano-particles, a bit greasy.
Most sunscreens to me do all pretty much the same thing, this one was no different. I did find it one of the easier ones to rub in, but that I think is at the expense of it containing nano-particles. Now if you read their website they explain why they have used them and that there is no research to say that they are really dangerous but I say ‘why take the risk’ It may be that in 30 years time we find there are no issues, but I am perfectly happy rubbing a bit harder and using something that doesn’t contain nano-particles just to be on the safe side with my children. I am not so worried about myself, but I won’t be using this on my children unless they decide to change their ingredients. Other people can make up their own mind, most sunscreens contain nano-particles so anyone happy to use them would be very happy with this product, it is great in many other ways. Just not something I want to risk until further research has been done on nano-particles.

I give this product a 9 out of 10. It is not as oily as other sunscreens I have used, so doesn’t just seem to sit on top of my skin. I like the fact that it is fragrance and chemical free and doesn’t irritate the skin around my eyes. Very impressed. Thank you.

True to it’s name , lovely and matte – no greasy feeling or shine . Testers to keep happy were a 2 year old with eczema – no irritation and stayed protected, and a bald head – the ultimate shine machine. Head stay smooth & soft to too. And no sunburn!! Great product , it will definatly be used in our house. Thank you .

I have test driven the SunSense Sensitive Matte and I found it to be a very good product.
It absorbs quite well and being matte doesn’t leave a shiny film on my skin.
A great moisturiser as well.
I particularly like the fact, that it is SPF30+
