Jason Wu’s Autumn/Winter ’10 show had a very ethereal feel, with its fresh and boyish makeup. The model’s had winter faces of porcelain skin, a natural lip and metallic eyes. It was minimal and simplistic, and totally on trend.
This is how makeup artist Lucia Pieroni created the look:
Face: After applying your concealer and foundation, use a highlighter to get that fresh-faced glow. Apply it to the cheekbones, brow and above the lip. MAC Strobe Cream will do the trick. Because the skin is so pale, it’s important to create a luminous glow to lift the skin and make it look fresh.
Eyes: To get that intense silver metallic eye, wet your makeup brush before applying the eye shadow. This enhances the colour for a dramatic effect. Try MAC Pigment in Platinum, $39 for the perfect silver hue.
To further enhance the look, apply a white eye shadow like MAC Pro Pigment in White to the centre of each lid. The white colour will catch the light, making your eyes pop. Lucia finished the metallic eye by pressing on MAC Glitter in Reflects Silver over the top of the white shadow.
Lips: While the lips were bare and minimal, they were also ultra hydrated. Complete the look by applying a coat of your fave lip conditioner, but beware of the ultra glossy types – this look calls for a soft, matte lip. Try MAC Lip Conditioner.
