With coloured hair I’ve always found it hard to rely on the promises made by shampoos claiming to re-nourish and care for it. However Hairscience Nourishing shampoo does just that. With the added bonus of being soap free for sensitive skin this shampoo is absolutely brilliant. It’s got a lovely aroma, and my hair feels and looks fantastic. I’ve been using it now for just on 2 weeks and it has definitely won me over. I highly recommend this shampoo especially as the whole family can use it without worrying about it just being suited to dry damaged and colour-treated hair. As a family who tend towards sensitive skin it is very re-assuring and kind on the pocket to know you don’t have to buy different products for everyone. Hairscience Nourishing Shampoo was a ht with us all!

This is fantastic, my hair is damaged due to years of getting the straightening iron out and flattening my locks. I’ve noticed since using this shampoo that my hair is not breaking as much, therefore i’m not molting as much. It is a noticable difference, my hair is now also softer feels stronger.

Loved Hairscience Nourishing shampoo. It left my hair silky soft and another surprising thing was the amount of shampoo needed to wash my hair. Other shampoo’s use much more product. My daughter who seems to make shampoo disappear even said that she only used a small amount and it was very effective.

The shampoo lathers up better than others I have been using. My hair at the moment is very dry but its now a lot softer and shiny. Also it lasts longer because you only have to use a small amount to get results!

The whole family tried Hairscience Nourishing Shampoo and I have to say, we were surprised! My Son was hesitant to try it because it was soap free and he thought ‘without the soapy lather, how can it clean?” Well, the lather was certainly there! And so was the clean! It wasnt covered up with an overpowering scent, no fruit smell, no perfumes. What we were left with was fresh smelling, clean, soft hair. I noticed also that I didnt need to wash my hair every second day to keep it feeling clean either. Once or twice a week was plenty. We are converted!

Firstly, thank you to Ego Every Day for the opportunity to review this product. To start with, let me explain a bit about myself. I am 54 years old and have long, frizzy hair that eagerly curls itself into knot balls at the first opportunity. In such a conducive environment, the split ends proliferate. Population stagnation is not an issue here ñ every moment a new split end is born and the working life of these nuisances appear to be indefinite. So my dream is to find a shampoo/conditioner partnership that will bring this population explosion under control. I have already tried the Hairscience conditioner (in conjunction with other brand shampoos) without much luck. My hair remained frizzy and knotty. So it was with some doubt that I approached its sister shampoo. However, its claim to be ìfor dry, damaged or coloured hairî was encouraging.
The product comes in a handy sized bottle with no fancy trimmings. The 250 ml contents were plenty for a single person. Although it is promoted as ìmild enough for everyday use for the whole familyî I think the bottle size would not be attractive for this use. Also, the bottle shape is not handy for removing the last bits of product as you canít turn it upside down. What I did find enticing on the bottle was the statement ìsoap freeî as I also get itchiness along the edge of my scalp and soap tends to be drying.
The list of ingredients on the bottle is not targeted at those married to natural products. This one is unashamedly designed in a laboratory and only a chemist would understand the 20 centimeter-long names. The instructions contained the usual exhortations to work the shampoo into lather, use with the same brand conditioner and keep out of eyes. Easily done except for the last bit, but Iíve been failing on that one for years and can still read the instructions, so I guess it canít be too important.
The product itself emerges in a rich, creamy flow with a lovely mild sweet citrus scent, so my first impression is that of luxury. The shampoo lathers smoothly and spreads itself generously around my hair, so surprisingly little is needed for each wash. I donít need to reapply it, as I am able to work it through my hair easily. Disappointingly, when I put my comb through my wet hair, it is knotty. However, when my hair dries I am pleasantly surprised. Having combed out the knots when my hair was wet, I found my hair remained knot free. And it stayed relatively knot free and very soft to touch for the following days until the next wash. Because my hair was knot-free, less of my hair fell out. Also, the scalp around my hairline was less itchy, so I was happy all round.
My experience after the second wash using the shampoo/conditioner duo was the same with relatively knot-free hair, but my scalp did become increasingly itchy. However, this product makes no claim for curing itchiness ñ just for being mild, which I think it was. Unfortunately I ran out of conditioner on the second application (I only had a bit left from before) so at the third wash I used the shampoo with a natural conditioner which has worked quite well with other shampoos. I was not so lucky with this combination. The result was knotty hair that felt more like a toilet brush. I was tempted to put my head in the bowl and flush, but remembered the warning not to get the product in my eyes.
So what was my final verdict? When ìused as directedî with the companion conditioner, the shampoo worked well to reduce knots and keep my hair feeling soft. Less of my hair fell out, which meant that for the first time in years my hair may actually got a chance to start growing longer. But that result did not transfer to use with other conditioners (or at least, not the one I tried). Would I recommend it to others? Yes, I definitely would. I imagine it would work even better on less challenging hair ñ especially straight hair that needed a bit of softness and shine. Will I buy it again? I probably would. Iíll definitely have to buy another tube of conditioner to use with the remaining shampoo, and after that it will make a pleasant addition to the other shampoos I periodically alternate between. My experience with the shampoo was unexpectedly positive, which probably makes it all the more valid.

I received my trial EGO shampoo.
I used it for weeks now and it had made my hair softer and more manageable.
It had also help on controlling my constant problem on hair fall and breakage.
Thanks EGO…
it made my hair more beautiful everyday=)

I also am surprised at the fact that you only have to use a small amount. I don’t necessarily have very dry hair but after eyars of colouring, blow drying, wind, sun & surf my hair tends to be prone to splitting and generally hard to style. This stuff is great. My husband has even used it and thinks it’s pretty good too. I only wish I had had the conditioner to use with it as I notice my hair is needing to be washed more regularly because the harsh winds around at this time of year are knotting my hair more. I would think the accompanying conditioner may actually help to alleviate this problem.
I would definitely use this again and I think it would be great in smaller bottles to take away with you – maybe have the shampoo, conditioner and some other hair styling product in a little gift pack would be good for presents as well.

thankypu for including me in your ego shampoo trial.
as I suffer fro very sensitive skin and scalp I am impressed that this shampoo hasn’t caused itchiness despite the long list of chemicals it contains.
I usually avoid any product that is so full of chemicals, and for this reason I will have to decide whether to purchase this product in the future.

While on a world trip earlier this year my coloured hair had become dehydrated’ I went into a local store in N.Z. and was advised to purchase your shampoo and conditioner. Being sceptical and so far from home I gave them a try and have never used anything else since. My hair is glossy thicker and in better condition than it has ever been before. My only complaint is that I can’t purchase this in the U.K (thank goodness for on-line shopping. I am now about to send for my second bulk order. Please let me know if this changes. From a very very satisfied customer.
