A perfect dinner party requires the perfect guests, plain food no way out experimental food. Great company, greatfood and good conversation nothing political

Unless you like a complicated life and menu, choose to prepare dishes you KNOW you can do well. Delegate, delegate, delegate! You know the table will need setting, the wine to be chosen and opened, the glasses to shine and the prep work for the cooking done. If you are part of a relationship, DO NOT let your partner play on the computer while you do everything!

Have a simple dinner and wine so you can enjoy your time, create a good ambience, such as our gondola area in the backyard with candles or bright coloured lights

Posted by Jill Tideman 24 September 2010

Cook what you know-
Less stress, better chance it will taste super & will be something everyone can enjoy!
Prepare desert and anything you can beforehand so you also have a chance to relax and mingle with your guests :)
Good food, music, drinks and company all help make for a nice atmosphere at a dinner party. Candles and flowers are added sweeteners, lol.
When all else fails do a BBQ!

Cook like you’ve never cooked before
Drink like you’ve never drunk before and
Laugh as much as possible, like you always do when you’re in good company!

Top quality food and organisation is the secret to my success,in having the best dinner parties around.I like to have everything prepared and set so I can mingle with my guests.( Huge amounts of alcohol may contribute to drama in one form or another)

Preparation is the key to a successful dinner party. To be organised and ready for anything will keep you calm and let’s you to enjoy the evening.Instead of being stuck in the kitchen for the whole night (missing all the important gossip!)

Prepare a variety of dishes beforehand, those that will suit most types such as no meat for vegetarians and try to cook up something that everyone will like. Don’t worry too much, and prepare the food enough time beforehand so that if you make a mistake, you won’t need to make a big fuss about it and you can start over. Get someone else to prepare the table while someone else cooks and another person helps out. The main key: be prepared and everything shall work out!

Laid back atmosphere and good food (but don’t try to compicate things too much). Things are always easier with a group of friends that get along well (so you don’t have to stress about helping along the conversation). Most important thing is to relax, your guests will sense when you are tense and on edge, so have fun and they will too.

always be prepared! always set the table in the morning then that job is done! i always put my music up loud and proud sing along as i prepare my dinner for my guests! then before they arrive clean up dress nice ,hair and make up on and sit and relax with a Glass of wine and then lets all dine!

Posted by kellie 24 September 2010

good food, good wine and great conversation!

Posted by Torie 24 September 2010

Try to find out what your guests like to eat..
Nothing worse than going to a dinner party where there is nothing you like!!

Posted by Alison Lee 24 September 2010

A great dinner party for me is 80% people and 20% food.
So relax & enjoy the company of your friends..
Dont fuss too much :)

Posted by Nicole 24 September 2010

Get everyone sloshed from the get-go, then noone wil notice if you burn the food.

Posted by Di 24 September 2010

Don’t spend more on food than you can afford. Keep it fun and just enjoy the company of your guests.
Cater to everyoneís needs by asking guests ahead of time if there’s anything they can’t eat or drink.
Donít spend too much time cooking, and away from your guests, or none of you will enjoy the dinner party.
Make sure there’s always water on the table.

Get loads of yummy champagne into your guests early and then they won’t care that your food sucks!!!

My friends are simple people (in the not too fancy way not the other simple way LOL) A dinner party for us would consist of a truck load of pizza, beers for the lads, Cruisers for the gals and awesome banter.. who can beat a Friday night in at home with the kids running mental and demolishing the place while you chill out with your friends….

Posted by Dani Henderson 24 September 2010

When we have a dinner pary at home, we always make sure the kids (ours & guests) are fed first, then pop them in a different room to watch a movie, etc, so that I can have time to set my table nicely with linen table clothe & napkins, candles & fresh flowers…. we can then all sit down to a lovely meal with a glass or 2 of wine & enjoy each others company…. ?

Secretly have the meal made by your favourite restaurant. That way you can spend more time setting a gorgeous table with electric atmosphere. And most importantly your able to spend more time with your valuable guests

Posted by Nichole Mckee 24 September 2010

Find out what the guest do and do not like 1st, leave plenty of time to cook and present the food so it dose not look like a rushed job and leave time for error, have a variety of entree foods available for everyone to taste because in my family you just cant stop at one we need to try everything on the menu lol

Posted by sheri gould 24 September 2010

Invite the right selection of people and the food won’t even matter :)

Posted by Laurien 24 September 2010

Prepare in advance as much as possible to lessen the stress. Make the dishes uniquely yours so people experience something they never had before. Outsource the kids and provide plenty of wine so if something goes terribly wrong the guests won’t remember it in the morning!

Tips for the Best Dinner Party..
Fun, Laughter, Noise, No Fuss and preferrably at someone elses house so there’s NO MESS!! :)

Posted by jo perry 24 September 2010

Don’t attempt to cook something really extravagant if you’ve never made it before, it’s best to have a practice run if you want to make something new. And give yourself plenty of time to prepare food so you’re not running around like a headless chook!

Posted by Amy Shambrook 24 September 2010

1. Keep it fresh.
2. Good tunes
3. Keep it simple.
4. Have variety.
5. Drinks on arrival!

Posted by Emily L 24 September 2010

Cook time tested family favorites, you know you are a fabulous cook, the kids told you so, lessens the stress

Posted by joanne 24 September 2010

Preparation is the key, so you too can sit and relax with your guests. You dont want to be slaving away in the kitchen the whole time your guests are there.
Prepare in advance as much as possible and enjoy the night with great company!

Serve a meal that has lots of variety. Peeople can help themselves and take as much or as little as they please. Everyone should be able to find at least something they like. Happy tummies make happy guests!!!!
