We always have the Aunty and Grandparents come and stay for a few nights. On Christmas Eve we drive around and look at the Chrissy lights as a family then put out Santa’s milk, cookies and carrots for the raindeer. Now the boys are teenagers we still do this and then they fight over who gets to eat the milk and cookies!!! LOL!!! Christmas Day involves a few pressies in the morning, a lovely family breaky together, more pressies, then if it’s hot we all head to the beach for an hour or two then home for a late BBQ lunch and dinner is our dessert. We have always made it no stress and have loved every Christmas day with the kids! No stress, everyone is happy, it’s just a relaxing fun day!!! Happy Christmas all! Best wishes from WA xxx

Christmas Morning is a time for my Mum to run around frantically wrapping presents that she only just bought the day before. We then have the gathering with the family which can either be relaxed or a day of arguing. Then it s a good 12 hr sleep after all that food. I wouldn’t have it any other way

This year our christmas will be a little bit different as it is our first christmas with our new baby girl.
we get to do all the exciting things; opening presents together, visiting family for lunch and watching her little face light up when she plays with her new toys. I think the most exciting part for her will be eating the wrapping paper
The afternoon for me like every christmas will be passed out on the couch from to much food consumption!

Christmas eve is always frantic in preparation for Christmas lunch. Christmas eve is spent with the kids having their own party at home at the front yard with the neighbours. Our house is all decked out with lights and decorations so it’s always so much fun for them. The adults indulge in some Christmas drinks while cooking a pig on the spit for xmas day lunch. After everything is done we gather for some carols usually at which point the kids leave out some milk and cookies and then go to bed. Christmas morning we all open presents and indulge in a healthy breakfast before all the family gather at our place for a massive feast for lunch. We drink and eat to our hearts content. Christmas night is recovering from over indulging and usually spent assleep in front of the tv.

Its not really a tradition.. When christmas morning comes we wake up after a sleepless night and watch our toddler go crazy with excitment opening up his pressies let him have a play for a bit then we either have a family lunch at home with all the family over or we go the inlaws for a family lunch! Merry christmas all

My husband and I have only one child, a son with a disability, he is 29 years old now and he lives at home. We do not have any extended family so we have made our house ‘Open House’ for all our friends who do not have any family to all get together on Christmas Day.
I do not see any point in anyone being at home alone on Christmas Day feeling sad about not having a family, so we have made our own family.
Anyone is welcome as long as they come with a Smile on their face and Joy in their Heart.
I have a sister in Denmark and we cannot be together at Christmas so we make good use of Skype to stay in close contact.
Christmas can be a sad time when you remember all the family who are no longer with us, we believe if you gather friends around you, you can make your own family.
What is the saying? …. …. you can pick your friends but you can’t pick your family. I see so many family fights at Christmas, I am happy we have been able to make our own Traditions surrounded by the people we love and not the people we just have to have at Christmas.
SEASON’S GREETINGS to everyone MERRY CHRISTMAS and a SAFE and HEALTHY NEW YEAR to all !!!

My kids are grown,
But 2 still at home,
Not allowed to be a sleepyhead,
I’M the one who now drags THEM out of bed,
Someone wears the Santa hat,
And hands out the pressies with cheeky backchat.
Then it’s the family photo,
Wrapping paper awash and dog going loco.
The rest of the day is filled with smiles,
Good food, phone calls and family who’ve travelled miles.
Merry Christmas everyone!!!

We have 3 of Santa’s elves arrive on the 1st of December. Apparently, they are mischevious and just get in Santa’s way, so he drops them off to my kids to look after, as they are well behaved, and might teach the elves a thing or two. However, they play up here too. Every morning, the kids wake up, and race to check on them. They do all sorts of funny things. Once, they painted my husbands toenails blue, while he slept. They decorated the christmas tree with toilet paper one night, and our undies on another. I’ve found them photocopying thier butts on my printer. Luckily, Santa picks them up on his way through on Christmas Eve. I couldn’t handle it if they stayed any longer!

we love finishing off the ham on the bone as soon as we can,so we can make our pea and ham soup, it does’nt matter if it’s cold or very hot weather. The soup is always made every year with out fail.

Tossing grapes in each others’ drinks when we’re not looking – the one with the most grapes is the loser!

Sitting around with the family everyone with there own pile of presents getting stuck in Dad sat there waiting till everyone is finished so we can all watch him, a crackly xmas record on with old 80′s stars singing xmas songs think ‘so this is xmas’ and the like. Wouldn’t have it any other way though i dont know how many more years the record has in it.

I buy one decoration for each of my family including the 2 dogs to go on the tree. I have a good collection now.
My mother cooks the turkey on Christmas Eve and we have cold meat and salads for Christmas lunch.

Our Christmas day is usually spent trying to squeeze a few extra minutes of sleep before being bombarded by eager little people wanting to see what has been left for them under the Christmas tree.
After opening gifts, we quickly tidy up the reams of paper wrapping and have breakfast to the sounds of carols by Bing Crosby.
The kids then play with their toys and generally have fun all day long.
We celebrate with a feast for late lunch/early dinner and somehow the adults tend to want to nap while the kids are still buzzing with what seems like endless energy.
MERRY CHRISTMAS,

On Christmas Day we wake up, not too early and open the presents have a bit of a play and then start getting dressed ready to go to my brothers house. Where my brothers wife and kids, my other brother and my parents all gather to swap presents and eat lunch. We all take something to eat and drink to help with the day and keep costs down.
Then later in the afternoon we come home and get our house ready for hubby’s family to come over and celebrate with us. As for most people its a long day but the look of surprise on the kids faces when they open their presents is worth every thing.

Since having kids, we’ve tried to start our own traditions.
Christmas Eve we drive around looking at Christmas light displays around the area – also looking up to the sky to see if we can spot Santa or Ruldoph’s nose in the sky!!
Then home where we place carrots, water out for Reindeers, biscuits (or chips) for Santa – kids in bed, hubby and i frantically eat half of all the carrots, leave crumbs on the plate, tip half the reindeers water out. then leave little bits of cotton wool stuck to things around the house (as santa’s beard got stuck on the way out)
Xmas morning wrapping paper goes flying!
Then we go to my parents for Xmas lunch, where more wrapping paper flys.
I love Xmas!! It means so much more once you have kids!
