It is the bathroom equivalent of the kitchen spice cabinet – a clutter of products tried once and found to be unsuitable, or bought for a specific purpose then left to gather dust. You wouldn’t use an ingredient that is past its prime and the same should apply to products in your bathroom cabinet. Begin by arranging items in three categories: keep, dispose and give away. Check the items you wish to keep or give away are in usable condition, especially pharmaceutical products. Return any medication past its expiry date to a chemist for safe disposal rather than throwing it in the bin.
Oilcloth is a prettier alternative to adhesive drawer liners – look for fun or retro-style prints online. Measure your cabinet and cut oilcloth to size. Long narrow baskets, such as Long slide n’ stack Baskets, $14.95* each, or if you have drawers, the Drawer Organiser set, $29.95*, both from Howards storage World, are great for grouping products together and keeping them accessible.
